Home and settling in...and feeling complete...

JP and I made the trek home yesterday.  The vacation was nice, but it's also nice to be home - in our own space, our own beds (with our pillows!)...and with Jenna. :)

NaNa S agreed to meet Nana B yesterday morning and bring Jenna back to Columbia, and then Jenna spent her usual Saturday with her.  Jenna was so excited when she saw us walking up to the door that she stood up, tripped up and flipped over herself.  Then she started crying and crying and crying.  It hit us then that she really did miss and us and was wondering where we were.  It took her sitting on the couch with the two of us for a bit to calm down.  Because she would get upset any time either of us would walk out of the room, we spent the rest of the day doing everything as a family unit.  Which was good - and it gave Daddy and Mommy that sense of wholeness again - that sense that only comes from having us all together as a family.

This week was great, but what made it perfect was sitting on the couch together last night, reading Jenna's favorite books to her (the one she likes me to read is Hands, Hands, Fingers, Thumb and JP's is Mr. Brown Can Moo)...as a family.  The real part of settling back in wasn't unpacking, doing laundry or going grocery shopping.  It was shopping together, reading together, and JP and I periodically walking into Jenna's room together to check on her (i.e., harass her while she sleeps).  It was a sweet and perfect ending to a great vacation week.

:)
