Speaking of blessings...

Many of you may remember a call I had to everyone a few months ago to take part in a fundraiser to help my friend, Kelly, who was trying to raise money to help her in the process of adopting a child.  Thank you, again, to everyone who contributed, and to those who have kept Kelly and her husband, Cory, in your prayers.

Adoptions can many times take a long time, but this was not the case for Kelly & Cory.  After being approved for their adoption on November 9th, they were notified on December 8th that they had been selected as the adoptive parents for a sweet boy named Marcus, who was born on November 24th. 

They are going to pick Marcus up today to bring him home!  How very exciting!!  Please keep them in your prayers during this time of transition.  Kelly has a blog, if you would like to follow their story:

Babies, babies, everywhere!! Let me explain...

Monica, who is best friends with JP's sister, Kim, was induced this morning and we are awaiting news that her son, Gavin, has joined us on the "outside." 

Rachel, one of JP's friends from high school, is due exactly 10 days after us.  She and her husband, Brant, are also expecting a baby girl!

Our friends Ellie & Kurt, who are due exactly four weeks after us, are expecting a baby boy!

Our friends, Elizabeth and Tony, who are due 10 weeks behind us, are expecting a baby boy!

And our friends, Justin & Chelsea, are due 14 weeks behind us.  They are hoping to find out the sex soon!

I am sure I missed someone.  If I did, let me know.  I share this with everyone, as we all need prayers during these times of great change!  If you feel so inclined, please take a moment to pray for each of these families.

Hello to all!

Hello to all of you, our friends and family! We are very excited about this new journey in our lives, and have created this blog as a way to share our ongoing news about Baby Cole with each of you! As you may already know, JP and I are expecting our first child, due on February 24, 2011. This was a surprise, but is very much a blessing! As of now, I am midway through my 12th week of pregnancy, and we were happy to get started in the second trimester. Since we are in the second trimester, I will take a moment to catch everyone up on what we've missed so far... Our first appointment was for the 8 week check up (which was an excruciating wait, given that we had found out we were pregnant over 4 weeks before!).  That was on 7/20, and we were able to hear the heartbeat (at a healthy 169 bpm) and see the heartbeat "flicker" - which was an amazing and awe-inspiring experience for us.  Here is the first ultrasound: I know, I know! On becoming...

We are, in each moment, as we are meant to be. Happiness. Joy. Trials. Tribulation. They are the experiences of life that forge who we are, shape our gifts. We are the ones who choose whether they chip away the best or the worst of us. In January 2016 I attended a Daring Way weekend with a group of amazing ladies. We reflected on the parts of us that need to be buried, put to rest. We reflected on those things that need to be brought up, refined in the light. We considered the duality of these, how they are necessary opposites for our growth and development, and how, in the end, they cannot exist in the same time and space.  As we wrapped up the weekend, we meditated on these to this song:  I am Light - India Arie I felt lighter walking out of that space.
