Mash-up for 2/26

When I am driving...or working out...or doing anything else where my brain can wander, I write these posts in my head that are eloquent, witty, engaging & creative.  When it comes time to sit down and put them in an actual post...poof!...they disappear just as fast as they came.

So is life.  I look back at posts when I was pregnant - when I had the time and the energy to think through every post.  To devote time to being creative and capturing the spirit of what I wanted to convey.  Not so much now.  Which is great for me (I'm out living my life!)...not so great for memorializing these moments for Jenna to see in the future.

Oh well!

Here is a review of our past week (+)...

Mommy cleaned out the garage & hosted a baby shower for Kaitlin:
 
Yeah...no pics of the garage.  Not sure how I missed this, given that I promised to send pictures to someone I never sent!
 
As for the baby shower...well...I was hosting...not taking pictures.  Here is a picture of the cupcake stand I made for it:
 
And two pictures Kaitlin was nice enought to send me!  Hopefully I can round up more from the other women...

 



I also forgot to take a picture of the tutu I made...and the hair band...and the hair bow holder!  Ugh...I have to remember to do these things! I'll never sell anything if I keep forgetting to take pictures!

And Daddy learned how to use a saw (just a disclaimer...this is his first wood working project EVER...as in he literally used a saw for the first time in his life Saturday and I woke up Sunday morning with this):

 
Add two days, some sanding and a little more work on a saw, and we now have this:
 


 
 
I'm so proud!!!!  And I can't wait to stain it this weekend and bring it in the house!!

Hello to all!

Hello to all of you, our friends and family! We are very excited about this new journey in our lives, and have created this blog as a way to share our ongoing news about Baby Cole with each of you! As you may already know, JP and I are expecting our first child, due on February 24, 2011. This was a surprise, but is very much a blessing! As of now, I am midway through my 12th week of pregnancy, and we were happy to get started in the second trimester. Since we are in the second trimester, I will take a moment to catch everyone up on what we've missed so far... Our first appointment was for the 8 week check up (which was an excruciating wait, given that we had found out we were pregnant over 4 weeks before!).  That was on 7/20, and we were able to hear the heartbeat (at a healthy 169 bpm) and see the heartbeat "flicker" - which was an amazing and awe-inspiring experience for us.  Here is the first ultrasound: I know, I know! On becoming...

We are, in each moment, as we are meant to be. Happiness. Joy. Trials. Tribulation. They are the experiences of life that forge who we are, shape our gifts. We are the ones who choose whether they chip away the best or the worst of us. In January 2016 I attended a Daring Way weekend with a group of amazing ladies. We reflected on the parts of us that need to be buried, put to rest. We reflected on those things that need to be brought up, refined in the light. We considered the duality of these, how they are necessary opposites for our growth and development, and how, in the end, they cannot exist in the same time and space.  As we wrapped up the weekend, we meditated on these to this song:  I am Light - India Arie I felt lighter walking out of that space.
