Family date night at Edventure!
JP gets every other Tuesday evening off, so we decided to do a family date night at EdVenture - for those who don't live locally, here is a link to their website: EdVenture The second Tuesday of every month, they do Family night, where admission is only $1 per person. $3 for a family date night is a great deal!
I took a ton of pictures and videos! Here they are...
They have an exhibit called "My Backyard" just for children 3 and younger. We spent the majority of the time we were there in this room. What was really fun for JP and I was to stay back a little and let Jenna master some skills!

They have an exhibit called "My Backyard" just for children 3 and younger. We spent the majority of the time we were there in this room. What was really fun for JP and I was to stay back a little and let Jenna master some skills!
We started in an area that is a romper area - obviously for smaller infants.
Then Jenna moved on to a big stuffed turtle. As you can see, she found a friend in the process.
Like most infants, Jenna is fascinated by mirrors - especially mirrors where she can look at herself!
From there, Jenna made her way to a corner area, where a ramp leads up to a mock shrimp boat. This is where we spent the bulk of our time in this exhibit. Jenna stayed by the ramp until she could master moving up and down it. Below are a couple of pictures, and then a series of videos showing her progression through learning how to manage the ramp. Her first time up the ramp, I was holding her hand and helping her up & down it.
I got her on video trying to go up the ramp by herself for the first time.
Here she is finally making it up the ramp.
In this video, Jenna attempts some stairs (not so successfully) and tries to make her way down the ramp (also not so successfully) - and she gets a little tangled up with her new friend in the process.
Here she is trying some stairs and the down ramp again - and again, not having too good of luck!
Finally! She makes it up the ramp, steps down a step without falling, and figures out the best way to make it down the ramp. Of course, she doesn't make it all the way down the ramp, but this is good progress for one 20 minute period!
From here, we went to the Timbuktu exhibit, where Jenna played on a xylophone and drums. She loves music and musical instruments already. She's no stranger to a drum, as she loves our djembe.
From Timbuktu we made our way to the Mission Imagination Gallery - where Jenna was able to make her name out of magnets, play on life size musical equipment, and play in the news studio.
Jenna was too small to venture through Eddie, so we made our way downstairs and took a few pictures of her in front of Eddie (although there is no way to get Eddie in the picture!).
Next we wandered through the World of Work Gallery, where Jenna played with cars, in a construction zone and on a fire truck.
Finally, we did a quick run through of The Great Outdoors, where Jenna and Daddy ventured up and up and up!
What a great family date night!
